Observations and Ponderings
I live on 20 acres so I am walking around a bit looking at the land. For years this land has been used for hay and cattle. It has been sprayed with chemical fertilizer. And there are alot of fire ant mounds. … Its a humorous battle between farmer and nature. The farmer brings in foreign grasses and then battles to keep the native from coming back… and then moans about the symptoms of a sick land. All for the sake of barely braking even and keeping an ag exemption….. EEESH…. well I realized that the earth offers certain medicine for us and the land itself… via “weeds” and encroaching plants. Its quite amazing actually how quickly the land will take itself back to a balanced state.
So I would LOVE to learn how to use these plants and herbal wisdom to work with the land.
To develop a way that honors the land AND provides food…
